My Experience
I’ve had the opportunity to do a little bit of everything, from athletics and coaching to leadership, service, and social media. Each experience has helped me discover new interests, build valuable skills, and grow along the way.
Senior Citizen Memory Journals & Interviews
In partnership with the local senior resource center I interviewed local seniors and turned their stories, memories, and advice into personalized, handwritten life journals. I also helped organize a presentation day where they invited their families; we read parts of their stories and presented them with their finished journals. Our local newspaper covered the event and interviewed us about the project and its impact.
Varsity Tennis Team Social Media Manager
As both a varsity tennis player and the team’s social media manager, I created content that highlighted our team throughout the season. I interviewed players and coaches, designed graphics, posted match results, and shared photos and updates to showcase our team and build school spirit.
Girl Up Club Vice President / Power in Pink 5K
As Vice President of my high school’s Girl Up Club, I was part of the leadership team that organized initiatives supporting women and girls in our community. I helped organize the She Supplies Drive, which collected feminine hygiene products for a local food pantry, and the Power in Pink 5K, which we partnered with ImageCare Radiology to host. Over two years, the 5K raised more than $30,000 for Susan G. Komen, which we had the opportunity to present to the organization.
Sailing Coach
As a sailing coach, I taught beginner sailors the fundamentals of sailing while helping them build confidence and independence on the water. I planned lessons and drills, coached both on land and on the water, and especially enjoyed encouraging young girls to stay involved in the sport. Coaching allowed me to combine my lifelong love of sailing with leadership, teaching, and mentorship.
